Anna J. Dunn letters, 1845-1846.

The Anna J. Dunn letters consist of eleven letters written from November 1845 to May 1846, addressed primarily to her mother, Mrs. James C. Dunn of Boston, Massachusetts, and recounting her social activities in and around Savannah, Georgia and at White Hall (or Whitehall) Plantation near Richmond Hill, Georgia. While in Savannah, Miss Dunn stayed with the R.J Arnold family and many of the letters refer to activities undertaken with the Arnolds or their friends. In one letter, written in December 1845, she writes nervously about local political discussions concerning war with Great Britain. The collection also contains a letter to Anna Dunn from her mother. The letters are arranged chronologically.
